How to Monetize Your Blogspot?

The Fastest Way to Earn Money from Your Blog: Ads & SEO

The quickest route to earning money from your blog is by putting ads on it. But before you can earn, your blog needs visitors, which only happens if your blog appears in search engine results. So, you need to both activate ads and apply some SEO strategies to ensure your blog can make money. Here’s a quick guide to help you do that:

1. Deserve the Ads

  • Publish original, high-quality content at least once a week for at least six months. Consistent posting helps establish authority and attract readers.
  • Make sure the content is valuable and aligns with your blog's niche to engage visitors.
  • Avoid plagiarized content or spammy posts, as this can lead to rejection by ad networks.

2. Apply to Google AdSense

Google AdSense is one of the easiest ways to monetize your blog. To apply:

  • Go to the Earnings tab in your blog’s dashboard.
  • Click on Sign up for AdSense.
  • Fill out the form and submit your application.
  • Wait for approval, which may take a few days.

Tips for faster approval:

  • Make sure your blog has a clean, professional design.
  • Your blog should be fully functional with easy navigation and no broken links.

3. Activate AdSense Ads

Once your AdSense account is approved:

  • On your AdSense dashboard, navigate to the Ads tab.
  • Create an ad unit or enable Auto Ads (where Google automatically places ads in optimal locations).
  • Copy the publisher ID provided by AdSense.
  • On your Blogger dashboard, post it to Custom ads.txt, field on your Blogger's Settings tab.
  • Ads should now display on your blog.

4. Optimize Blogger Settings for Search Engine Visibility

Visibility in search engines is critical for organic traffic. Configure the following settings:

  • On your Blogger dashboard, go to Settings.

SEO & Analytics:

  • Google Analytics Measurement ID: Sign up for Google Analytics and get your Measurement ID. Paste this ID into the relevant field under Settings > Analytics to track visitors and get insights on traffic sources.

Visibility:

  • Visible to search engines: Toggle this on to allow search engines like Google to index your blog.
  • Enable search descriptions: Toggle this on, and write a concise, keyword-rich description of your blog. This description will appear in search engine snippets.

Crawlers and Indexing:

  • Enable custom ads.txt: Under Crawlers and Indexing, toggle on "Enable custom ads.txt content." Click Custom ads.txt, then enter the ads.txt information provided by AdSense, including your publisher ID.

Optimize for SEO:

  • Add custom meta tags to each post: You can set search descriptions for individual posts in Blogger, which boosts post visibility on search engines.

5. Register in Google Search Console

Google Search Console helps your blog appear in Google’s search results. It also provides tools for optimizing your site’s performance. Here’s how to register:

  • Go to Google Search Console (search.google.com/search-console).
  • Add your blog’s URL and verify ownership (usually via HTML tag or Google Analytics).
  • Go to URL Control tab. There paste your URL and make it checked. After that, apply for indexing pushing the related button.
  • Once verified, go to Sitemaps tab, and submit a sitemap. You can do this by entering your blog’s URL followed by "/sitemap.xml" (e.g., yourblog.com/sitemap.xml).
  • Monitor your performance and fix any indexing errors.

6. Register in Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a powerful tool for understanding your visitors and how they interact with your blog. Here’s how to register:

  • Visit Google Analytics (analytics.google.com) and sign up.
  • Set up a property for your blog by entering your blog’s URL and details.
  • Get your Measurement ID from Analytics and link it to your Blogger under Settings > Analytics as mentioned earlier.
  • Use Analytics to track user behavior, traffic sources, and conversions.

7. Register in Other Search Engines

While Google is the dominant search engine, it's also important to register your blog with other search engines to reach more users. Here’s how:

  • Bing Webmaster Tools:

    • Visit Bing Webmaster Tools (bing.com/webmasters).
    • Add your blog and verify ownership.
    • Submit your sitemap.
    • Go to URL Inspection tab. Make your URL inspected and apply for indexing your URL, there.
    • Your URL should be visible now on Bing.
  • Yandex Webmaster Tools:

    • Visit Yandex Webmaster (webmaster.yandex.com).
    • Add your URL and get the meta code for it.
    • Go to your Theme tab on your Blogger's dashboard. Click the down arrow near Custumize button and choose "Edit HTML". Put the meta code you got from Yandex under some other meta tag and save.
    • Push "Check" button on Yandex.
    • Now, your URL should be indexed on Yandex.
